CORE SERVICES

What we build

Three things we do week in, week out - plus the full-yard work we design around them.

Paver Patios & Walkways

A patio is only as good as what’s underneath it. We excavate to proper depth, lay and compact a road-base foundation in lifts, and set every paver on screeded bedding sand with polymeric joints. That’s why ours stay flat through Fraser Valley winters while the cheap ones sink, rock and weed up by year three.

Patios, walkways, front entries, steps, driveway aprons and pool surrounds - in the paver, flagstone or slab you actually want.

Retaining Walls

Chilliwack is built on slopes. Promontory, the Eastern Hillsides, Chilliwack Mountain, Ryder Lake - if your lot drops away, you’re losing usable yard every year to a grade you can’t mow, plant or sit on.

A properly built wall gives that ground back. We build engineered-block and natural-stone walls with the drainage rock, filter fabric and geogrid reinforcement that keep them standing straight for decades, not the stacked-and-hoped walls that bow out after two wet winters.

Sod Replacement & New Lawns

Moss, ruts, bare patches, and a lawn that’s more thatch than grass. In our climate a tired lawn doesn’t recover on its own - it gets mossier every winter.

We strip the old lawn out, fix the grade so water runs away from your house instead of pooling in the middle of the yard, bring in quality growing soil, and lay fresh Fraser Valley-grown sod. You walk out on a finished lawn the same week.

FULL OUTDOOR LIVING

And when you’re ready for the whole yard…

Plenty of our clients start with a patio and end up with the backyard they’d been sketching on napkins for six years. We design and build the whole thing.

Landscape Design

& 3D Renders

Before you commit a dollar to construction, you’ll see your finished yard in 3D. Change the stone, move the fire pit, widen the patio. It’s far cheaper to change your mind on a screen than on the ground.

Outdoor Kitchens

& Pergolas

Built-in grills, stone counters, bar seating, storage, and pergolas designed around how you actually live and entertain. Gas connections completed by a licensed gas fitter, permit included.

Fire Pits

& Fire Tables

The reason a backyard gets used in October instead of sitting empty. Built-in stone pits, gas fire tables, and the seating walls to ring them.

Full Yard

Transformations

Patio, walls, lawn, planting beds, lighting, irrigation and drainage, designed as one thing and built in one coordinated run, instead of five contractors blaming each other.

Your Questions Answered

How much does a paver patio cost in the Fraser Valley?

Most residential patios run $27-$37 per square foot installed, so a typical 300–400 sq ft patio lands around $8,100-$14,800. Retaining walls start around $79 per face foot, and a new lawn from $5.50. What moves the number is access, how much excavation the base needs, and the paver you choose. Your quote is fixed and itemised, you’ll see what every line costs before you decide.

Do you charge for design?

No. Some firms charge $1,500–$5,000 for landscape design before construction starts. Your 3D design is included free with your quote, you see the finished yard before you commit to anything.

Why are you cheaper/more expensive than the other quote I got?

Compare what’s under the stone, not the bottom line. Ask the other quote how deep the base goes, how many lifts it’s compacted in, and whether drainage is included. Most cheap patios are cheap because the base is thin, and it looks identical on day one. It looks very different in year three when it’s sunk and rocking. We’ll happily walk through a competing quote with you and tell you honestly where we’re different.

What if you find something unexpected once you start digging?

You hear about it before we touch it, with the cost in writing and your say-so. Buried debris, old concrete, a spring in the subsoil, it happens on maybe one job in ten. What never happens is finding it on your final invoice.

Are you the right fit for my project?

We’re a good fit if you want it built properly and you’re planning ahead. We’re not the cheapest, our focus is quality work, results that last, and we don’t do rush jobs at the expense of the base.

When should I book?

Now, for the season you want it. Our build season runs March through November and the calendar fills front to back, yards quoted in winter get built in spring. If you want to use the patio this summer, the quote needs to happen well before the install does.

How long does it take?

Three to seven working days on site for most patios and walls; sod replacement is usually one or two. You get a start and finish date in writing before we begin, and we don’t stack your job behind three others.

How much of a mess is this going to be?

Some, it’s excavation. But we tarp what needs protecting, keep material stacked tidy at the end of each day, run a plate compactor rather than heavy machinery where we can, and haul every scrap of spoil away.

Do I need a permit for a retaining wall?

Generally not under 1.22 m (4 ft), those fall outside the city’s building bylaw. At 4 ft and above you need a permit and a design from a registered professional, plus field reviews. We’ll tell you at the walkthrough which side of that line you’re on, and if it needs engineering we coordinate all of it.

Can you do a gas line for my BBQ?

Yes. We build the kitchen, and a licensed gas fitter completes the gas line and connection under permit. It’s included in your quote - you don’t have to organise a second trade.

What’s this white chalky film on my new pavers?

Efflorescence - natural mineral salts rising to the surface as concrete cures. Every paver brand does it, it’s not a defect, and it fades on its own within a season. We’ll tell you how to speed it up if it bothers you.

Do you do maintenance after the build?

Yes. We build it, and we can keep it looking the way it did on day one.

It’s optional and separate from your build. Everything we install also carries a 2-year workmanship warranty.

What’s the guarantee?

2-year workmanship warranty on everything we install, in writing, plus manufacturer warranties on materials. If something we built settles or shifts, we come back.

What deposit do you take, and when do I pay?

50% to lock your build date and cover materials, the balance in staged payments tied to work actually completed. You never pay ahead of what’s built.

Should I landscape my new build now or wait?

Now, and here’s the honest reason: waiting costs you more than it saves.

There’s also the mud. A bare lot in a Fraser Valley winter isn’t a yard you can use, it’s tracked through the house from November to April. Most people who “wait a year” spend that year not using the space at all, then join a booking queue in spring alongside everyone else who waited.

Which is the part worth knowing: our season runs March through November and it books front to back. The yards quoted in winter get built in spring. By June we’re typically scheduling into late summer, and by August we’re booking the following year. If you’ve just taken possession, the quote is worth doing now even if the build is months out, it costs you nothing and it holds your place in the schedule.

If budget is the reason for waiting, say so at the walkthrough. We can phase it: patio and drainage first, planting and lighting next season. Phasing on a plan is smart. Waiting without one just means paying next year’s prices for the same yard.
